Your Data

Delete your Fro account.

You can ask us to delete your account and personal data at any time. Here is exactly what happens.

This page covers the Fro mobile app for iOS and Android, published by Fro, Inc.

Delete it from the app

  1. Open Fro and go to Profile → Delete Account
  2. Resolve anything listed as blocking: an active booking, an open report or dispute, a wallet balance to withdraw, or a withdrawal still settling
  3. Confirm your password (or your Google account) and type DELETE
  4. You are signed out, and the account is held for 30 days before anything is erased

The 30-day hold, and how to stop it

Deleting signs you out and puts the account on hold. For those 30 days your profile is hidden, your services and package deals are paused, and nothing on the account can be booked, sent, or changed. The app will tell you to cancel the deletion first. Nothing has been erased yet. Sign in again any time before the 30 days are up and choose "Keep my account", and everything is restored exactly as it was. Signing in alone does not cancel it; the choice has to be deliberate. After 30 days it cannot be undone.

What a request covers

A deletion request removes your account and the personal data attached to it. The two lists below describe exactly what goes and what has to stay. Fro does not offer partial deletion of individual data types while keeping the account open; deleting the account is the way to remove your data.

What gets deleted

  • Your name, email, phone number, bio, and saved addresses
  • Your sign-in credentials, so the account can no longer be used
  • Your profile photo, service images, and videos
  • Any ID or licence documents you submitted
  • Your saved payment methods
  • Your saved services and preferences
  • Your device tokens and notification settings
  • Your precise location history

What we have to keep, and why

  • Booking and payment records, kept seven years: US tax law allows a six-year window for reviewing under-reported income, and we keep one further year as margin
  • Messages, attachments, and job photos, because the person you booked with co-owns that conversation and keeps their copy
  • Records tied to an open report, dispute, chargeback, or refund, until it is resolved
  • Reviews you wrote, since removing them would change other providers’ ratings
  • Your username, retired rather than released, so nobody can take it and inherit your history

In what stays, your name shows as “Deleted User” and your profile, email, and phone number are gone. Some retained records still contain personal detail, because the record would be meaningless without it: a booking keeps the address the job took place at, and messages are kept as they were written. Your email address becomes free to register again.

How long it takes

From the app, the request takes effect immediately: the account goes on hold at once and is erased 30 days later by an automated job, which runs a few times a day, so deletion may land a few hours after the date shown. If you write in by email instead, we confirm within 72 hours and complete deletion within 30 days.
